Naja, wenn ich den folgden Auszug aus der Rede mal kommentieren darf:

Didn't have much of a choice there - the Alaska Permanent Fund makes sure of that. Besides, it's the Legislature that sends that money back to the people, not the executive.

"And despite fierce opposition from oil company lobbyists, who kind of liked things the way that they were, we broke their monopoly on power and resources. As governor, I insisted on competition and basic fairness to end their control of our state and return it to the people."

You didn't break it at all - you replaced parts of it with a governmnet boondoggle that will cost upwards of $40 billion dollars and has no one's support except for the pipeline operator that is trying to protect a 35 year ROW that has a snowball's chance in hell of being considered as law and therefore protected. Shippers, producers, aboriginal groups, local governments and the government of Canada (where almost 80% of the ROW are going to be) don't support you at all.

"I fought to bring about the largest private-sector infrastructure project in North American history. And when that deal was struck, we began a nearly $40 billion natural gas pipeline to help lead America to energy independence."

See above - we began? Where did you begin? By declaring a open season and having one bidder whose bid you then accepted? Hell of a beginning...can't wait to see the end.

"That pipeline, when the last section is laid and its valves are open, will lead America one step farther away from dependence on dangerous foreign powers that do not have our interests at heart."

So in about 20 to 30 years at the progress you are making...

"The stakes for our nation could not be higher. When a hurricane strikes in the Gulf of Mexico, this country should not be so dependent on imported oil that we're forced to draw from our Strategic Petroleum Reserve. And families cannot throw more and more of their paychecks on gas and heating oil.

With Russia wanting to control a vital pipeline in the Caucasus and to divide and intimidate our European allies by using energy as a weapon, we cannot leave ourselves at the mercy of foreign suppliers.

To confront the threat that Iran might seek to cut off nearly a fifth of the world's energy supplies, or that terrorists might strike again at the Abqaiq facility in Saudi Arabia, or that Venezuela might shut off its oil discoveries and its deliveries of that source, Americans, we need to produce more of our own oil and gas. And...

And take it from a gal who knows the North Slope of Alaska: We've got lots of both."

No you don't. You have 700,000 bbl per day in a pipeline that used to carry 2.1 million bbl per day. You have drilling programs that are stuck in court for years - and you have no plan whatsoever to bring about that gas pipeline. You are facing comepetion on you own project from an industry sponsored project - the same guys that own the gas that is supposed to be shipped through your pipeline...
